Today was such an exciting day! When we woke up, we had oatmeal for breakfast, and went swimming. While swimming, Mom and Dad stopped putting the tent away to watch us for a little while. While they were watching us, Sydney noticed something, she said "Mom!!! Dad!!! The tent is flying away!!!". 01 Jul Fish & Dragonflies
Today we went to Quetico Provincial Park and tried our camping and canoeing gear out. We loaded our canoe with all the equipment and paddled out in French Lake. We wanted to go down the French River but Dad steered us to the wrong place on the lake. But it all paid up. I saw a fish in the water. Mom thought it looked like a hammerhead shark because it was a 30 inch pike with a 2 pound sucker in its mouth sideways! What a sight! We went to pick up our almost 21 foot canoe for our trip today at Wild Waters Wilderness Shop in Thunder Bay. A man named Dennis Davidson dropped off the canoe there for us, and the paddles for it too. There was even a river next to us so we could test it out. It flew like a bird! 29 Jun Cabin’s & Cottages
This morning we woke up in the loft the Smedley's Cabin, ready for a new day. We went swimming again in the lake and that refreshed us a lot. We had a nourishing breakfast and spent a good lot of time on their trampoline. We had such a wonderful, fun, time there, and I hope we end up seeing them again before we go back home. That night we reached Jackfish Bay and went to "Jackfish Cottages" for the night. Our good friends, Brenda and her parents, Shirley and Jack, own the place and they had a little restaurant there....
